Speira is a leading European aluminium rolling and recycling company headquartered in Grevenbroich, Germany. Established in 2021 following the acquisition of Hydro's Rolling business by KPS Capital Partners, Speira operates seven manufacturing facilities and an R&D center across Germany and Norway. Notably, it includes the Alunorf joint venture, the world's largest aluminium rolling mill, and the Grevenbroich plant, the world's largest rolled aluminium finishing mill. Employing approximately 5,000 people, Speira produces around one million tonnes of advanced rolled products annually and recycles up to 650,000 tonnes of aluminium per year.
Speira is committed to sustainability and innovation, aiming to become the industry benchmark in low-carbon aluminium production. The company has introduced labels such as ORBIS and RIVOS to certify products with high recycled content and low emissions. Additionally, Speira is investing €40 million to enhance its recycling capacity at the Rheinwerk facility, aiming to save up to 1.5 million tonnes of CO₂ annually.
