About the role:
The Senior IT Associate will oversee and maintain IT infrastructure, deliver technical assistance across East and Southern Africa, manage endpoint devices, ensure cybersecurity, oversee call center technology, and coordinate IT procurement. They will also provide user training, work closely with departments to address IT needs, and deliver emergency technical assistance when required.
What you would be expected to do

IT Infrastructure Management:
- Maintain and troubleshoot network systems, servers, and data storage solutions.
- Ensure network security and data integrity.
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements as needed.

User Assistance:
- Provide technical assistance to staff across East and Southern Africa, addressing hardware and software issues.
- Resolve technical problems in a timely and efficient manner.
- Document service requests and resolutions

IT Training:
- Develop and deliver IT training programs for employees.
- Create training materials and documentation.
- Provide ongoing guidance to users on IT systems and software.

Endpoint Assistance:
- Manage and maintain endpoint devices (laptops, desktops, mobile devices).
- Install, configure, and update software applications.
- Perform hardware repairs and upgrades as needed.

Call Center Technology:
- Manage and maintain call center technology, including VoIP systems and related software.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to call center operations.

IT Procurement:
- Assist in the procurement of IT hardware, software, and services.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts.

Cybersecurity:
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect IT systems and data.
- Monitor for security threats and act on any observed or prevailing incidents.

Operating Systems:
- Provide expertise in various operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and macOS.

Departmental Partnership:
- Work closely with other departments to ensure IT needs are met.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Emergency Assistance:
- Be available outside of normal working hours to address critical IT issues.
You might be a strong candidate if you
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in an IT role.
- Strong background in call center technology, IT procurement, cybersecurity, computer networking, and various operating systems.
- Proficiency in Windows, Linux, and macOS.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Swahili (written and spoken).
- Positive attitude and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work after hours in case of emergencies.
