The Security & Crisis Management Research & Development Associate will play a key role in supporting three core areas of the team’s mandate. First, the position contributes to data analytics and research functions; second, it supports the organization-wide transition to new security management applications; third, the role includes engagement and support on security-related matters for our partners across the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
In the area of data analytics and research, the Associate works collaboratively to compile, prepare, validate, and visualize the ICRC’s weekly, quarterly, and annual security and safety incident data, as well as minimum security requirements data. The role also involves producing ad hoc analyses and incident-related reports in response to requests from SCMS colleagues.
In addition, the Associate supports the human and technical change management processes associated with the transition to new security management tools. This includes contributing to the planning, coordination, and implementation of change initiatives, and accompanying colleagues worldwide as they adopt and integrate the new tools into their operational practices.
The Associate also provides support, engagement and accompaniment to RCRC Movement partners on a range of issues covering tools, research, operational security and guidance in emergencies.
