We have an opportunity for a dynamic and strategic Head of People Services to direct the operational delivery and ongoing advancement of HR functions across Sony Europe’s 28 countries. You will lead a team of 30 that ensures HR service management throughout the employee lifecycle (including benefits, mobility, recruitment, payroll, and employee relations) while encouraging operational excellence and innovation. While this role can be based at any of our main office locations across Europe, our European Headquarters in the United Kingdom, is our preferred location.
You will:
Translate HR strategy into clear, actionable plans and oversee their execution across all HR processes and programs.
Actively participate in the HR Leadership Team (HRLT) by influencing HR strategy, establishing objectives, and guiding organizational direction.
Direct, support, and nurture a high-functioning People Services team (approximately 30 employees, 5 direct reports), encouraging a culture of ownership, progress, and partnership.
Set clear performance expectations, monitor progress, and ensure achievement of service level agreements (SLAs).
Continuously evaluate and enhance HR processes, technologies, and workflows to improve efficiency, compliance, and employee experience.
Proactively identify and implement guidelines, bringing innovative solutions to the HRLT for broader adoption.
Oversee compliant execution of employee relations, including sensitive restructuring, data privacy, and complex ER matters.
Serve as the ultimate point of contact for blocking issues, grievances, and interactions with European and country-level employee relations bodies.
Partner with Finance, Accounting, and Treasury teams to uphold cross-functional quality standards, monitor important metrics, and resolve performance issues.
Provide actionable insights to HR Business Partners and Centres of Expertise to advise strategic decision-making and collaborate with Global HR Systems to deliver process and application enhancements.
Represent company interests in payroll vendor meetings and regular reviews with Deloitte, in partnership with the Head of Rewards.
Plan, coordinate, and refine the HR People Services team budget to secure effective resource planning and spending regulation.
You will bring:
Proven management experience leading HR service delivery and employee relations in a complex, multicultural corporate setting.
Bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent professional experience.
Evidenced skill in directing, supporting, and advancing varied teams.
Exceptional organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to address complex HR challenges and drive process improvements.
Advanced proficiency with HR systems and a comprehensive understanding of payroll, benefits, and compliance processes.
Strong collaborator management and communication skills.
Fluency in English; proficiency in additional European languages is an advantage.
