Job Description:
Salesforce is looking for a motivated and technically strong Solution Engineer to join our Marketing Cloud team in Austria and Germany. In this role, you will help customers solve digital marketing challenges by connecting business needs with scalable technology solutions across the MarTech landscape.
You will work closely with Account Executives, customers, and internal technical teams to design and demonstrate solutions based on Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Data360 (CDP), and related marketing technologies. This role is ideal for someone who combines a strong technical foundation with practical MarTech knowledge and enjoys translating customer requirements into solution designs that support personalized, data-driven engagement.
Responsibilities:
Business Problem Solving: Take on complex business challenges, utilizing research and business assessment to define problems, generate innovative ideas, identify opportunities, and recommend actionable next steps.
Technical Solution Design:
Work with customers and internal teams to understand marketing, data, and activation requirements and translate them into solution designs using Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Data360 (CDP), and adjacent MarTech capabilities.
MarTech Consulting:
Support customers in evaluating and improving their marketing technology setup, including customer data usage, campaign orchestration, segmentation, personalization, and channel execution.
Solution Demonstrations & Prototyping:
Deliver clear and relevant product demonstrations, build lightweight prototypes, and show how Salesforce solutions can address real customer use cases across the marketing lifecycle.
Data & Integration Understanding:
Contribute to solution discussions around integrations, APIs, data flows, identity resolution, and activation use cases. Help customers understand how Marketing Cloud and Data360 (CDP) fit into their broader technology ecosystem.
Discovery & Technical Validation:
Participate in discovery sessions to capture business and technical requirements, assess feasibility, and support the development of solution recommendations aligned to customer goals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with sales, solution engineering, services, product specialists, and customer success teams to support opportunities and deliver strong customer outcomes.
Continuous Learning:
Stay up to date on Salesforce product capabilities and broader MarTech trends, including customer data platforms, personalization, automation, and digital engagement.
Qualifications:
Experience:
3+ years of experience in a similar role such as Solution Engineering, Digital Marketing, or technical consulting, with a strong focus on marketing technology and customer engagement solutions.
Language Skills: Fluency in both German and English is required
MarTech Knowledge:
Good understanding of the MarTech ecosystem and how platforms for campaign management, customer data, segmentation, personalization, and activation work together.
Technical Skills:
Good understanding of modern MarTech ecosystems and how data, activation, personalization, analytics, content, and integrations work together to enable customer engagement at scale. Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Data360 (CDP) concepts and adjacent marketing technologies is highly valued. Familiarity with topics such as data federation, flexible data models, identity resolution, clean rooms, cross-channel activation, dynamic content, and performance measurement is a plus. The candidate should be able to explain technical concepts in business terms and understand Salesforce’s role within a broader MarTech stack and brings curiosity for emerging AI-driven and agentic marketing capabilities.
Presentation and Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to persuasively present complex technical and data-centric concepts to a variety of audiences, from technical teams to C-level executives.
Problem Solving:
Structured and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to analyze requirements, identify options, and propose practical next steps.
Collaboration:
Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and contributing to shared success across sales and technical organizations.
Industry Background:
Experience in B2C or digitally mature industries such as Retail, Consumer Goods, Travel, Media, or Financial Services is beneficial.
