Description
Who We Are:
You might know us as the inventors of the bath bomb, but there’s more to this great-smelling, partly employee-owned, family-run company than pioneering cosmetics. We believe our business should put more back into the world than it takes and demonstrate that capitalism can be a force for good.
We put our people first and fight cruel practices like animal testing, promote regeneration, and show that it is what’s inside that counts - whether that’s an ingredient in a product, or the minerals in a smartphone.
Diversity Matters:
We are building a brand that represents the people of the world. It’s what you do that counts, and we are always looking to expand perspectives and voices to shape our future.
We see you, we celebrate you, we want you!
About the role
The Property work stream at Lush is responsible for the spaces where our brand comes to life; from finding the right location, to opening the doors, to making sure every lease is working as hard as it should.
As Property Leasing Manager, you'll own Lush's property portfolio strategy across the ANZ region, encompassing our shops, office spaces, and manufacturing facilities in both Australia and New Zealand. That means identifying new opportunities, negotiating leases for new sites and renewals, and delivering projects on time, on budget, and true to the Lush brand.
This is a senior, hands-on role that sits at the intersection of commercial negotiation, project delivery, and stakeholder relationships. Beyond your property remit, you will be a vital part of the ANZ Leadership Team. This means you’ll have a voice in business governance and wider company strategy, acting as a supportive sounding board and trusted partner to your fellow business leaders.
You'll work closely with landlords, architects, builders, and internal teams locally and globally to shape how and where Lush shows up in the world. Success here is built on strong relationships and sharp commercial instincts, and measured by realising short and long-term goals.
Cover letters are appreciated.
Key Responsibilities
-
Develop and drive our property strategy across ANZ, aligning our spaces with Lush’s retail and manufacturing goals, both locally and globally.
-
Lead lease negotiations for new sites, renewals, and rent reviews, securing strong commercial outcomes that set our shops up for success.
-
Build and nurture authentic relationships with landlords, centre management, and vendors. You'll act as a key ambassador for the brand in the property market, ensuring Lush remains an exciting, highly sought-after partner they genuinely enjoy working with.
-
Manage our existing property portfolio, ensuring landlords and external partners meet their lease obligations, and handling maintenance efficiently.
-
Oversee end-to-end project management for store openings, refits, relocations, and defits—keeping things on time and on budget.
-
Prepare accurate property appraisals in line with local and group standards.
-
Ensure strict compliance with local building approvals, safety regulations, and Lush’s global standards for sustainable, environmental building design.
-
Lead and inspire the property team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, providing coaching, and driving exceptional performance.
-
Act as a core member of the Leadership Team, actively participating in business governance, shaping broader company strategy, and providing general support and collaboration to your peer leaders.
-
Collaborate with senior management and affected teams to review, communicate, and adapt project schedules as needed.
-
Champion our company goals, working cohesively across departments to turn our retail strategy into reality.
