Job Summary
The Firefighter is responsible for supporting the implementation of fire safety protocols and ensuring readiness in case of fire-related emergencies within the organization. The ideal candidate will also engage in fire prevention activities, maintain equipment and participate in training activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency calls, including fires, rescues and medical emergencies.
- Fight fires using various techniques, equipment and strategies.
- Participate in rescue operations, including search and rescue and provide medical assistance.
- Inspect buildings and equipment to identify potential fire hazards.
- Maintain fire-fighting equipment, vehicles and facilities.
- Participate in training exercises, drills and simulations.
- Engage in fire prevention activities, including public education and outreach.
- Collaborate with other emergency responders, including police and medical personnel.
Requirements
Education and Work Experience
- SSCE, OND in relevant discipline.
- Certification in Fire Safety and Protection from a recognized body.
- Relevant training in fire prevention and fire-fighting and Controls.
- At least Five (5) years of experience in large scale fire-fighting.
- Valid drivers' license.
