Position Description
The Quality Assurance Officer serves as a critical partner within the Supply Chain and Operations function, responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining a robust quality management system across the organisation. Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, the role ensures that all agricultural processes, produce, and equipment meet stringent internal standards and international regulatory requirements.
Positioned at the core of operational excellence, this role safeguards the organisation’s reputation by ensuring that all outputs meet premium quality expectations and global compliance standards. The Quality Assurance Officer works closely with field teams, warehouse operations, and leadership to drive consistency, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the agricultural value chain.
This role sits at the intersection of quality control, compliance, and operational execution, ensuring that Complete Farmer consistently delivers high-quality, traceable produce while maintaining efficient and compliant systems across all touchpoints.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all stages of the agricultural value chain, from planting through post-harvest handling.
- Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with Global G.A.P., HACCP, and other relevant certification standards.
- Establish and maintain rigorous inspection protocols for raw and processed agricultural produce.
- Oversee produce testing processes including moisture content, size, weight, and contamination checks.
- Define and manage Gold Standard specifications for crops to meet international buyer requirements.
- Manage non-conformance and rejection processes.
- Establish preventive maintenance and calibration schedules for all equipment.
- Ensure optimal storage conditions across warehouses and cold chain environments.
- Lead efforts to acquire and maintain international quality certifications.
- Act as the primary point of contact for auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Train and support field officers and warehouse teams.
- Supervise QA technicians and inspectors.
- Promote a strong culture of quality and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Bring:
- At least 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance with strong knowledge of quality control processes and standards.
- Good understanding of ISO, HACCP, Global G.A.P., or BRC standards and their practical application in operations.
- Experience developing and implementing SOPs, conducting audits, and driving compliance initiatives.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools to support quality monitoring and decision making.
- Exposure to IoT based agriculture systems or digital monitoring tools will be an added advantage.
