Your Impact
As a Client Development Advisor at Planetrics, you will play a pivotal role in our client development efforts, driving new client acquisition, managing pipelines, and contributing to our client development strategy.
As a member of our Client Development team, you will have responsibilities across these areas as an individual contributor and key catalyst for collaboration with practice leaders and colleagues:
- New Client Acquisition: You will own the full client development lifecycle, from initial outreach to contract signature. This includes researching and developing new leads globally, targeting potential clients, leading client presentations, and customizing proposals to address specific client needs and objectives. You will build and maintain the subject expertise needed to help McKinsey deliver winning proposals for Planetrics clients globally.
- Pipeline Management: You will establish and maintain relationships with key individuals in client organizations, share our capabilities, gather insights, and respond to upcoming opportunities. You will adopt a structured and disciplined approach to tracking activity, ensuring pipeline accuracy, and forecasting.
- Client Development Strategy: You will develop and execute client development plans for whitespace opportunities, building and maintaining knowledge of current industry and economic events impacting our clients and the relevance of our products. Conducting market and competitor analysis, you will become an expert among your peers and clients.
- Client Onboarding and Support: You will partner closely with internal stakeholders such as Leadership, Customer Success, Product Management, and firm functions such as Marketing, Legal, and Risk to ensure client needs are met and feedback is incorporated.
- Reporting and Analysis: You will track and report on client development activities, sales pipeline, and performance metrics. Analyzing client feedback and market trends will inform product development and business strategy.
Your qualifications and skills
- Experience: minimum 5 years of B2B business development experience, preferably with data or technology products focused on climate/energy in finance, with at least two to four years in managing a portfolio of clients in the private sector. Preferred experience within the financial services or banking sectors.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated history of account management and revenue generation.
- Business Development: Ability to identify and contribute to business development and marketing opportunities.
- Relationship building: Distinctive collaborative mindset with an ability to forge effective relationships across various stakeholders globally.
- CRM Expertise: Experience in managing pipelines in Salesforce or similar customer relationship management systems.
- Analytical Skills: Proven strategic and analytical thinking skills to identify new opportunities and resolve complex challenges throughout the client development process.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: Ability and desire to initiate the identification and pursuit of innovative ideas in business development while orchestrating C-level stakeholder management.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving capabilities including the ability to disaggregate issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with experience in facilitating or delivering workshops, training, and onboarding.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and an ability to confidently handle multiple tasks and priorities.
- Preferred education or training background in economics, statistics, finance, mathematics, physics, environmental science or related field.
