You’ll be part of our Strategy & Corporate Finance (S&CF) team and will be based in Lisbon.
As the Proposal Senior Analyst, you will work closely with the S&CF hub manager to support priority proposal/client development opportunities for the practice.
McKinsey’s Strategy & Corporate Finance Practice advises clients on top-management level issues, including: corporate strategy and restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and alliances, business due diligence, value-based management, ESG strategy, and strategy in Initial Public Offerings (IPOs).
Your Impact
You will be a key member of the Strategy & Corporate Finance (S&CF) Client Development Hub — which is primarily EMEA-focused, but also supports efforts globally or in other regions as appropriate.
This role is a unique blend of strategy, operations, content expertise, stakeholder management, communications/design, and project management.
Specifically, you will:
- Facilitate the proposal document and process; lead significant workstreams independently
- Create timely and high-quality proposal content, gather feedback, and own cadence of iterations
- Navigate the proposal process and help client service teams implement best practices
- Quickly understand client context, embed within the team, and create compelling proposal documents and material
- Conduct research and analyses to inform key insights and customize proposals
- Quickly learn about Strategy & Corporate Finance and mergers & acquisitions capabilities and industry knowledge to shape content proactively
- Adhere to relevant procedures (e.g., file structure, archive, backup) for all proposal materials and processes
- Prepare templates, compliance matrices, close-out activities, and other administrative elements
- Identify opportunities, and support creation and continuous improvement of Proposal Services assets (playbooks, tools, templates, best practice examples, reference cases, capability-building, etc.)
Your Qualifications and Skills
- University degree
- 3+ years of experience in a client services setting, with experience in one or more of: S&CF/M&A topics (Strategy, M&A, Finance and capital markets, Growth and innovation etc.), client development, business development, proposal management, communications
- Basic understanding of professional services client development
- Proven project management skills
- Strong conceptual and analytical problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills in English, written and verbal (e.g., ability to synthesize and convey complex information clearly and compellingly)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Excel)
- Results-oriented; entrepreneurial and self-driven
- Collaborative; able to build relationships and influence stakeholders across roles and levels
- High professional and ethical standards and respect for confidentiality
