Product Manager - McKinsey Transformation Job ID: 87391 We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our McKinsey Transformation Wave team as a Product Manager in our Brussels office.

If this sounds like you, you've come to the right place. Your ImpactYou will collaborate with colleagues in the McKinsey Transformation (MT) team, which spans across functions (design, development, delivery, management, and client development).
You will have a specific focus on McKinsey's Wave Solution, a digital product that enables clients to successfully manage improvement programs and transformations. You will be an active member of the product and technology team, working together with other Product Owners to evolve the platform and ensure it continues to exceed client expectations.
Applying user-focused principles, you will engage with users and internal stakeholders to conduct user research and draw insights required to inform perspectives on product value, usability, or feasibility. You will identify pain points in product usage, write user stories, create wireframes, groom stories with developers, test improvement ideas, and document results.
You will use this to help define, build, and prioritize the product backlog. You will also support product documentation by translating complex technical information into end user-friendly help content, including text and supporting graphics. This is a key enabler in adoption and user experience.
You will collaborate with a team of 3 to 4 Engineers to implement your product backlog, under the guidance of MT Assets Product Leaders. You will validate functional implementation and integrate/provide feedback for the development team. You will communicate 'the story' effectively to train client-facing Service Teams on the newly developed functionality.
As part of these efforts you will prepare meetings or other activities, alongside product communications to a broad range of stakeholders. You'll have the opportunity to gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the team.
Our Product & Engineering team, consisting of 65 colleagues and external workers, is responsible for developing and managing the firm's digital solution for steering transformation programs at scale. Team is responsible for building Wave, a cutting-edge software-as-a-service (SaaS) product used by 100,000+ client users every month across hundreds of clients globally. We are constantly innovating as demonstrated by recent launch of our Wave's GenAI-powered Virtual Coach. Your qualifications and skills- Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred in computer science, business or equivalent degree
- 3+ years of experience as a product owner, product manager, or another related role
- Experience with building adopted enterprise quality products, enabling business capability and objectives through technology
- Proficient with roadmaps, drawing storyboards, creating wireframes, creating/grooming product backlogs, writing user stories and developing acceptance criteria
- Understanding of product lifecycle and product management best practices
- Identify and escalate product development barriers, dependencies or risks, ensuring the value of the user stories and negotiating with stakeholders and engineers to deliver the value within tight timelines
- Ability to analyze structured and unstructured data using Excel (or other analytics tools)
- Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable working with technical & business teams
- Demonstrated ability and desire to navigate complex situations with various levels of uncertainty
- As a part of our commitment to apprenticeship and community, consistent and predictable in-person/in-office working time is essential to this role
- Willingness for occasional travel as-needed
