As a specialist in this field, you will be a part of McKinsey's renowned advisory, which comprises specialized expertise along the entire iron-steel value chain.
In addition to work as an advisor, you will participate in, or at times lead, key internal knowledge-building initiatives as well as conferences and client workshops.
You will play an active role in problem-solving for metals clients, including identifying issues, forming hypotheses, designing and conducting analyses, and synthesizing conclusions into recommendations.
You will also gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the firm. You will receive exceptional training, frequent coaching, and ongoing mentoring from colleagues and senior leaders on your teams.
You'll join the Brussels office and will be part of the Metals & Mining practice.

Your qualifications and skills- Bachelor's or master's degree in STEM-related discipline; advanced degree preferred
- Professional focus with 3+ years of experience in at least one of the following areas: steel operations, or steel-related applied research with field experience in metallurgical production
- Excellent knowledge of contemporary technologies of steel and steel product making
- In-depth understanding of the development trends in the industry is an advantage
- Demonstrated attitude for analytics
- Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Access or statistical/database experience a plus
- Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
- Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively
- Fluent in written and spoken English, additional languages a bonus
- Comfort and experience presenting to small groups
- Willingness to travel frequently
