Your ImpactAs a knowledge professional you will work alongside our consultants and clients to generate distinctive insights and proprietary knowledge. You will leverage your knowledge and analytical rigour to develop capabilities, gain insights, and solve specific client business problems. You will be part of the Africa Capabilities and Insights Team based in Nairobi, working within McKinsey's Social, Healthcare and Public Entities (SHaPE) practice.
As a Capabilities & Insights Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in addressing some of the most pressing challenges faced by healthcare systems and public entities across Africa. Your responsibilities will include:
- Research and Analysis: Investigate key client questions by identifying, analysing, and synthesizing data and insights to support problem-solving efforts and targeted industry research.
- Healthcare Analytics: Use advanced analytics and data from healthcare providers to address critical client questions.
- Delivering Impactful Solutions: Present findings through McKinsey-standard deliverables, including models, presentations, and written communications, to help clients make informed decisions.
- Thought Partnership: Collaborate closely with consulting teams and clients, serving as a trusted thought partner to develop innovative solutions and drive sustainable change.
- Client Engagement: From time to time, work directly on client projects, which may involve traveling to client sites across Africa. These engagements will allow you to contribute to projects with a broader scope and amplify your impact across the region.
- Knowledge Development: Support the continuous improvement of McKinsey's knowledge assets by contributing to the development of new insights, tools, and methodologies
Your work will also focus on topics beyond healthcare. You will contribute to projects in areas such as economic development, public policy and finance, and other social sector challenges across Africa.

Your qualifications and skills- Bachelor's or Master's degree (Bachelor of Science preferred)
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and quantitative skills (data modelling will be a core skill needed)
- 3+ years of working experience in healthcare topics, ideally with additional analytical experience
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Professional attitude and service orientation, team player
- Strong communication skills, capable of presenting complex findings in a clear and compelling manner
- Willingness to engage in a wide variety of research topics, even beyond healthcare topics, to more general public and social sector work (economics, public policy etc.), within a highly demanding and results-oriented team environment
