The role
Want to use your data skills to support the bank in meeting sustainability and climate objectives? Join RaboResearch Sustainability Data & Analytics (SuDA) team as a junior data scientist and help quantify emissions, analyze climate impact, and develop tools that drive transparency and action. You’ll collaborate with 11 professionals to deliver data and insights that will help Rabobank, and its clients meet their sustainability and climate goals.
Your work will include impactful projects such as calculating emissions intensities for financed emissions reporting, conducting research into methodologies for Greenhouse Gas Emissions calculations, and building dashboards that show climate-related data - such as progress toward SBTi targets. Your work directly supports Rabobank's sustainability goals and those of its clients.
Your primary focus:
Developing data models and visualizations for sector-and client-level emission intensities.
Research and apply methodologies for calculating Greenhouse Gas Emissions (Scopes 1, 2, and 3).
Analyze sustainability performance and develop data products that track progress toward climate targets.
Collaborating with sustainability experts and data scientists to translate insights into strategic advice.
Use your extensive knowledge in modelling, and quantitative research skills, to work in a cloud-based analytics environment.
Supporting the renewal and integration of external climate data sources into internal systems.
You and your future
During our Data & AnalyticsEarly Career Program, you’ll develop your career over 18 months by becoming an expert in your field. Throughout the program, you’ll stay with one team and receive training to enhance your hard skills. You’ll be paired with a buddy who will guide you in navigating the bank. For your personal development, you and your fellow starters will follow the Early Career Program and receive guidance from a Data & Analytics Development Consultant. We’re here to prepare you for sustainable career!

Your development as a Data & Analytics Young Professional
Within this program, you will have the opportunity to get to know yourself, your trade, and Rabobank. You will start the program in a junior position within one team, participate in (online) workshops and training modules with other young professionals, and quickly gain practical experience.
Together with Data & Analytics community there is room for creativity and initiative to organize events, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing sessions. This way, we continuously improve the program and ourselves! You will easily build a large and valuable network within the bank.

You and your talent
Educational Background: You have obtained a Master's in (Quantitative) Economics, Econometrics, Data Science, or a similar field.
Affinity with climate, sustainability, or (Food & Agri) economics.
Work Experience: Approximately 0-2 years of work experience.
Residency: Currently living in the Netherlands.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate quantitative analysis into comprehensive information for higher management and business users.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of Python and experience in data analysis.
Language Proficiency: Excellent command of the English language.
