Role Overview:
The Sales Director : PSPs & Aggregators will be accountable for leading and scaling Cellulant’s payment processing and collection solutions across Payment Service Providers (PSPs), aggregators, and digital payment partners across Africa. This senior role is focused on defining and executing the commercial strategy for PSP and aggregator partnerships, driving revenue growth, and establishing long-term strategic alliances within the payments ecosystem.
As a leader, you will manage a team of sales professionals, guide partnership structuring for complex ecosystem players, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver scalable, interoperable, and innovative payment solutions. The ideal candidate combines deep fintech and payments expertise, a strategic partnership mindset, and strong leadership capability to unlock growth across PSPs, gateways, super apps, aggregators, and digital platforms.
What You'll do:
1. Strategic Revenue Growth & Sales Leadership
- Own the PSPs & Aggregators sales strategy across assigned markets and partner segments, driving revenue growth through partnerships and transaction volume expansion.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of sales managers and executives, ensuring alignment with business goals and performance targets.
- Oversee full partnership and sales cycles for strategic partners, including opportunity identification, commercial structuring, negotiation, and onboarding.
- Establish and track KPIs for the sales organization, including revenue, transaction volumes, partner acquisition, and ecosystem growth.
2. Partner Relationship & Account Management
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with founders, CEOs, product leaders, and commercial heads of PSPs and aggregator platforms.
- Serve as a strategic partner, enabling partners to scale their payment capabilities through Cellulant’s infrastructure and solutions.
- Lead partner account planning, joint business reviews, and growth initiatives to maximize transaction throughput and revenue share.
- Identify co-creation, upsell, and expansion opportunities across the partner ecosystem.
3. Solution & Product Partnership
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to design scalable payment acceptance, routing, and aggregation solutions.
- Guide partners on API integrations, payment orchestration, and platform optimization to ensure seamless interoperability and adoption.
- Provide market and partner feedback to influence product roadmap, platform capabilities, and innovation priorities.
4. Market Intelligence & Go-to-Market Strategy
- Drive ecosystem analysis, competitive benchmarking, and partner landscape mapping to inform commercial strategy.
- Define and execute go-to-market plans targeting PSPs, aggregators, gateways, and emerging fintech platforms.
- Partner with Marketing and Strategy teams to support ecosystem campaigns, partnerships, and platform adoption initiatives.
5. Governance, Risk & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure all partnership and sales activities comply with regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements across jurisdictions.
- Partner with Legal and Compliance teams on partner onboarding, due diligence (KYC/AML), and commercial agreements.
- Mitigate operational and financial risks related to payment processing, including fraud, settlement risks, and transaction failures.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced qualifications preferred.
- Minimum of 7–10 years in fintech partnerships, payments sales, business development, or strategic account management within payments, banking, or technology sectors.
- Proven track record in leading high-performing sales or partnerships teams and closing complex, high-value ecosystem deals.
- Deep knowledge of payment processing, merchant acquiring, aggregators, PSP models, and digital payment ecosystems.
- Experience in designing, selling, or scaling payment platforms, APIs, or infrastructure solutions.

- Deep understanding of PSP, aggregator, and fintech trends across Ghana and broader African markets.
- Skilled at translating ecosystem insights into compelling partnership propositions and commercial models.
Collaborative Leadership
- Experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, compliance, and operations teams to deliver integrated partner solutions.
- Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders in a matrixed and platform-driven environment.
Achievement of Revenue & Volume Targets
- Strong track record of consistently achieving or exceeding KPIs, including transaction volume growth, partner acquisition, and revenue targets.
- Experience driving scalable growth through partnerships rather than purely direct sales models.
Commercial & Ecosystem Acumen
- Strong commercial acumen with deep understanding of pricing models, revenue share structures, and platform economics.
