Role Overview:
The Sales Director : Payouts & B2B will be accountable for leading and scaling Cellulant’s payout solutions across enterprise and mid-market clients in Africa. This senior role is focused on defining and executing the commercial strategy for B2B payouts, driving revenue growth, and establishing long-term strategic relationships with high-value clients.
As a leader, you will manage a team of sales professionals, guide solution development for complex client needs, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative payout solutions. The ideal candidate combines deep B2B sales expertise, a strategic mindset, and strong leadership capability to capture growth opportunities across fintech, logistics, gig economy, insurance, payroll, and e-commerce sectors.
What You'll do:
1. Strategic Revenue Growth & Sales Leadership
- Own the B2B payouts sales strategy across the assigned markets and verticals, driving high-value client acquisition and revenue expansion.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of sales managers and executives, ensuring alignment with business goals and performance targets.
- Oversee full sales cycles for strategic accounts, including opportunity identification, solution design, negotiation, and deal closure.
- Establish and track KPIs for the sales organization, including revenue, transaction volumes, client acquisition, and pipeline health.
2. Enterprise Client Relationship & Account Management
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with CFOs, CTOs, operations, and finance leaders at target organizations.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, providing insights and solutions to optimize payout processes and drive operational efficiencies.
- Lead account planning, business reviews, and growth initiatives to maximize client lifetime value.
- Identify upsell, cross-sell, and expansion opportunities across the client portfolio.
3. Solution & Product Partnership
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to develop bespoke payout solutions aligned with client requirements.
- Guide clients on API integration, automation, and workflow optimization, ensuring seamless implementation and adoption.
- Provide market and client feedback to influence product roadmap, innovation, and service improvements.
4. Market Intelligence & Go-to-Market Strategy
- Drive market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and trend identification to inform commercial strategy.
- Define and execute go-to-market plans for key verticals, including client segmentation, targeting, and value proposition articulation.
- Partner with Marketing and Strategy teams to support campaigns, commercial propositions, and expansion initiatives.
5. Governance, Risk & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure all sales activities comply with regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements across jurisdictions.
- Partner with Legal and Compliance teams on client onboarding, due diligence (KYC/AML), and contract negotiation.
- Mitigate operational and financial risks related to B2B payouts, including fraud prevention, reversals, and transactional reliability.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced qualifications preferred.
- Minimum of 7–10 years in B2B business development, enterprise sales, or strategic account management within fintech, payments, banking, or technology sectors.
- Proven track record in leading high-performing sales teams and closing complex, high-value deals.
- Deep knowledge of B2B payments, bulk disbursement workflows, and digital financial ecosystems.
- Experience in designing, selling, or scaling payment technology solutions/platforms.

Account Management Expertise
- Solid experience in managing enterprise-level or strategic accounts across Ghana markets, ensuring continuous client engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Skilled in uncovering client growth potential through structured upselling and cross-selling strategies, leading to increased revenue per account.
Strategic Sales Planning
- Proven ability to contribute to the development and execution of strategic sales plans, aligned with both market dynamics and internal growth targets.
- Adept at forecasting pipeline performance, interpreting trends, and adjusting commercial tactics in response to shifting market conditions or customer behavior.
Market Insight and Tactical Application
- Deep understanding of market trends, customer behavior, and sector-specific dynamics across Ghana.
- Skilled at leveraging insights to design contextually relevant sales pitches, business cases, and market entry approaches that resonate with diverse client segments.
Collaborative Leadership
- Experience working in close alignment with senior sales leaders and cross-functional teams (e.g., product, operations, marketing) to translate strategic direction into actionable sales outcomes.
- Proven ability to influence internally and externally without direct authority, fostering alignment and results in a matrixed or geographically dispersed team environment.
Achievement of Sales Targets
- A strong track record of consistently achieving or surpassing sales quotas and KPIs, including both new business acquisition and existing account growth.
- Experience building and executing sales plans that have led to sustainable revenue growth.
Commercial Acumen
- High level of commercial and financial acumen, with a sharp understanding of pricing strategies, margin management, and contract negotiation in an African B2B context.
- Ability to navigate the complex business environments of Ghana balancing client expectations, internal capabilities, and external regulatory or economic factors.
