About the role:
We are looking for a seasoned QA professional with expertise in designing, implementing, and scaling end-to-end testing frameworks across multiple platforms. The role will require to take ownership of QA strategy — from requirement validation to release certification — ensuring high product reliability and performance at scale. Lead complex automation initiatives, guide junior testers on best practices, contribute to architectural discussions for testability, and collaborate deeply with engineering, DevOps, and product teams. The role also involves defining quality metrics, improving CI/CD test integration, and proactively identifying risks in production environments. The successful candidate will have good grasp of modern QA trends, automation scalability, and product release confidence is key.
What you will be expected to do
- Design, maintain, and evolve automation frameworks for UI, API, and backend testing using industry-standard tools and languages.
- Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans covering functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end scenarios for complex systems involving microservices, APIs, and distributed architectures.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and DevOps teams to ensure testability, reliability, and fast turnaround of features.
- Conduct deep root cause analysis of critical defects and drive preventive QA practices.
- Establish and track key QA metrics like defect leakage, automation coverage, and test efficiency.
- Conduct code reviews for QA automation, guide junior testers, and enforce quality standards.
- Own the end-to-end validation process of production hotfixes, live environment verifications, and release certifications.
- Monitor technical issues raised by the field team, and raise tickets if bugs are found.
You might be a strong candidate if you have/are
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Expertise in both manual and automation testing across complex systems.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in software QA with a focus on test automation and release quality.
- Proven experience with automation tools/frameworks like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, RestAssured, or similar.
- Good programming skills in Java or Python for writing maintainable automation code.
- Solid understanding of API testing (Postman, RestAssured); backend validation, and SQL-based data verification.
- Experience implementing automated tests in CI/CD pipelines (Github/Bitbucket).
- Skilled in analyzing test trends, improving test processes, and driving data-backed quality initiatives.
- Good communicator with an ownership mindset and ability to work cross-functionally in agile product teams.
Good to have:
- Previous experience in performance, load, or security testing (JMeter, Gatling, OWASP, etc.).
- Exposure to cloud platforms and microservices testing (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus.
- Familiarity with containerized testing (Docker, Kubernetes) environments.
- Contributions to designing quality gates and automated release checks.
- Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, Behave) and API contract validation.
- Passion for driving continuous improvement initiatives and introducing modern QA practices.
