If this sounds like you, you've come to the right place. Your ImpactYou will help clients develop or validate their models and assess their modeling frameworks supporting a variety of risk functions, including credit, market, insurance, ESG or model risk management.
You will be part of a team of exceptional risk analytics professionals with similarly deep industry experience and will be expected to communicate complex analytics concepts in a clear and concise manner to key client stakeholders. We are therefore looking for candidates who can establish connections between sophisticated modeling techniques and strategic decision-making processes. We have a global client base and you will be exposed to a highly international environment.
You will also have the opportunity to advance McKinsey's overall knowledge base by providing rigorous analysis to and problem solving for our proprietary knowledge investments. At more senior levels, you'll also focus on developing new analytical approaches and techniques such as AI or GenAI, working with an outstanding knowledge structure and international network of experts in order to codify existing knowledge and develop new knowledge.

You'll join our global Risk & Resilience Practice in one of our European offices and be part of the Risk Analytics team.

Your qualifications and skills- Bachelor's degree required; advanced quantitative degree (master's or Ph.D. in computer science, mathematics/statistics, engineering, or financial engineering) would be a plus
- 1-6 years of relevant experience in risk quantitative analysis/modelling to solve real world problems
- Experience across model lifecycle, including active participation in activities of development, implementation and/or testing of risk models (vendor or "in-house" models)
- First experience in programming (beyond simple scripts) in a modern scientific language (e.g., Python, R); knowledge of SQL, NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB, Ignite), Matlab or SAS would be a strong plus
- Experience in one of the following machine learning / AI areas: natural language processing, deep learning, anomaly detection, graph-based techniques would be a strong plus
- Experience with the use of GenAI and Large Language Model would be a strong plus
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively with people at all levels in an organization
- Exceptional communication skills - especially around translating technical knowledge into forms that can be digested by leadership and non-technical project teams-, verbally and in writing, in English and the local office language(s)
- Willingness to travel
