Accountant Job ID: 95585 We are seeking a finance professional with relevant experience in accounting to manage and oversee accounting tasks within the Firm, ensuring compliance with internal accounting guidelines and Dutch tax regulations.

If this sounds like you, you've come to the right place. Your Impact You will work in our Amsterdam office as part of our Finance & Accounting team. You will provide general accounting support to the office, ensuring quality of data and compliance with Dutch legislation and Local and Firm Accounting policies.
Financial Reporting
- Review balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy and completeness and coordinate / collaborate with global accounting team on items requiring action within the appropriate time frame
- Prepare monthly journal entries
- Assist in the month-end close process, including review of the monthly trial balance, and validate accuracy of entries processed in accordance with US GAAP
- Tax Filing and Compliance:
- Prepare, review and ensure accurate and timely filing of tax-related documents.
- Prepare year-end audit schedules, gather data as required, and respond to ad-hoc requests in support of global Corporate Tax Team
- Identify, analyze and report benefit in kind transactions.
- Explain material positions and mutations taken with regards to corporate tax and conduct difference analysis across financial years
- Liaise with external VAT service provider and supply documentation to reclaim foreign VAT.
- Liaise with Dutch tax authorities (Belastingdienst), tax advisors, and other critical stakeholders in order to maintain a high level of compliance with rules and regulations and handle queries/disputes.
Payroll
- Streamline, coordinate, and prepare transactions for payroll input from various internal and external sources
- Assist in preparing monthly payroll and be back-up for the payroll accountant
- Prepare, review and process accounting of payroll from AFAS in SAP - analyze for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for select payroll accounts, e.g., prepaid pension, and devise actions to resolve open items
- Act as a business partner on payroll-related topics with employees, payroll function, shared service centers and HR
- Coordinate expense reimbursement of employees on education leave
- Analytical and Technical Tasks
- Ensure accurate general ledger and project code usage of purchase invoices
- Leverage MS Excel and analytical tools for financial analysis and reporting
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and peers globally
- Respond to internal and external queries and ad-hoc requests
- Collaborate with respective shared service centers
- Support the team by continuously improving accounting, financial, and reporting processes and help drive projects supporting real business needs, e.g., conducting ad-hoc analyses of expense data or revising an internal process for accounting pension

Your qualifications and skills - University degree (WO) or higher professional education (HBO) with background in accounting and/or tax
- 2-5 years accounting experience in international corporate environment; Experience in payroll, Dutch tax rules and/or with US GAAP is a plus
- Strong MS Office skills (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint and Word); Knowledge of SAP, analytical tools, and AFAS are desirable
- Self-starter that can work collaboratively in a team in an environment of ambiguity
- Curious with drive for continuous self-development and for learning
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively-both verbally and in writing-in English. Dutch language skills are preferred.
