About this role:
Crystal Palace FC is looking for an experienced First Team Goalkeeping Coach to join our Men’s First Team coaching staff. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and delivering a world-class goalkeeping programme that aligns with the club’s playing philosophy and supports our ambition to compete at the highest level of the Premier League and Europe.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality, training sessions for First Team goalkeepers in line with the club’s tactical and playing philosophy.
- Develop and maintain Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for each goalkeeper to optimise technical, tactical, physical, and psychological performance.
- Work closely with the First Team Manager, coaching staff, performance analysts, sports science and medical teams to integrate goalkeeper training with overall squad preparation.
- Provide matchday coaching support, including pre-match warm-ups, in-game tactical input, and post-match performance reviews.
- Conduct detailed video and data analysis of own goalkeepers and opposition goalkeepers to inform training content and match preparation.
- Monitor workload, recovery, and physical readiness in collaboration with sports science and medical staff to minimise injury risk and maximise performance.
- Support the development of goalkeepers within the Academy, Development Squad or loaned as required, ensuring a clear pathway to the First Team
- Maintain accurate training records, performance data, and development plans in line with club policies and GDPR requirements.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager.
- Upholding and promoting the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid and up to date UEFA A Goalkeeping Licence (Essential - please email your qualification to Theo.Vrachnakis@cpfc.co.uk as part of your application)
- FA-approved emergency qualification (e.g., ATMMiF).
- Proven experience coaching goalkeepers at professional First Team level, ideally within a Premier League or elite European club environment.
- Strong understanding of modern goalkeeping techniques, tactical trends, and position-specific demands at the highest level.
- Demonstrable experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary First Team environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and adapt sessions based on tactical, physical, and individual needs.
