The new Lead Engineer for Developer Baseplate will play a pivotal role in crafting how developers work by providing groundbreaking processes and tools that improve their capabilities.
Core Responsibilities
The Developer Platform team focusses on improving developer efficiency by providing self-service & automated access to everything a developer needs to build outstanding digital products, so we in the end can reach even more kids with digital experience.
- Reimagine and innovate developer processes and workflows with AI, improving productivity and creativity.
- Collaborate with product leadership to define a roadmap that empowers developers in an AI-first world.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Guide and support the development team in embracing modern AI methodologies and practices.
- Ensure the LEGO Group gets most value from investment in Developer Experience.

The larger DX & CF area provides foundational capabilities for our product teams using or migrating to cloud. We are guides in Cloud & Containerization in the organization. That is why we are the ones that help product teams embrace Cloud and assist them with creation of a DevSecOps experience.
We support hundreds of digital product teams today and are responsible for establishing the foundation of the teams, bring mentorship and guardrails for how we build the next generation of digital LEGO® services in Cloud. Developers in the LEGO Group are based all over the world with most product teams centered on our Hubs in Billund, Copenhagen London and Shanghai.
Our diverse and dynamic team is sitting in our temporary LEGO® Hub in Copenhagen, soon moving to our official Hub at “Postbyen”, offering an exciting, inspiring, and flexible work environment – and a little fun play as well!
Do you have what it takes?
We are looking for an experienced engineering leader with a strategic approach and more years as software engineer and preferably with AI Augmented Development experience (Spec driven development, context engineering, etc.).
Looking for an individual with proficiency in Cloud native development (Azure, AWS, or GCP), who has worked in an environment focused on achieving goals. Extensive experience with one or more general purpose programming languages like C#, Java, Python, golang. Also, profound experience with one or more CI/CD tools like Github, Gitlab or Azure DevOps.
To succeed in this role, you preferably have competence within the following:
- Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Engineering.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Experience with value stream mapping or process mapping.
- Understanding of user-centered design principles and experience in conducting user research or usability testing.
- Active participation in developer communities, open-source contributions, or personal coding projects.
- Great in presentation and communication.
Finally, advanced English both written and verbally are needed since we are an international gathered team.
