Job description
Why we are here
Tony’s Chocolonely is committed to ending exploitation in cocoa. We are an impact company that makes chocolate, not the other way around. With incredibly tasty chocolate, we lead by example, demonstrating that ethical practices and success can go hand in hand. Through Tony's Open Chain (TOC), mission allies like Albert Heijn, Ben & Jerry's, Jokolade, and Aldi have embraced a fairer, more transparent supply chain for their chocolate.
Now we are on the hunt for our new Sustainability intern to join our team in Amsterdam! This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on sustainability experience in a growing impact-company, all while making a significant positive impact in the world of cocoa. As you might know, we do things a little different around here. Our financial year ends in September and starts in October. During this internship you'll be able to contribute to a very hands-on period where we make sure our impact measurements are accounted for. Together with the team, you'll collect the data and prepare this for our annual PwC audit starting in October.
Here’s what you’ll learn:
- Sustainability reporting. Get hands-on experience collecting, validating and shaping sustainability data and narratives for Tony’s annual reporting cycle and audit.
- Impact measurement. Learn how we track our progress against Tony’s impact model — from KPIs to long-term change objectives.
- Project management. Build skills in coordinating tasks, managing workflows and structuring projects in a fast-paced team.
- Stakeholder engagement. Work closely with internal partners (operations, finance, teams across Tony’s) and external auditors to understand how sustainability comes together in practice.
- Sustainability strategy. See how sustainability goals and commitments are translated into operational decisions and everyday work.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Support Tony’s annual sustainability reporting cycle. Collect data and evidence, organize documentation and help bring structure to the audit preparation process, run quality checks and contribute to narratives.
- Support our road towards B Corp recertification. Support in writing (new) policies, align teams and processes, help to implement B Corp requirements throughout the organisation and make sure all Tony's are up to date on B Corp before we submit for recertification in January 2027.
- Work on sustainability dashboards & KPI tracking. Keep our internal insights up to date and actionable.
- Conduct research on sustainability trends. Dive into emerging standards, regulatory frameworks, benchmarks and best practices relevant to Tony’s impact model.
- Contribute to ongoing sustainability projects. depending on your profile and team priorities (e.g. due diligence, emissions and climate topics, human rights, supply chain sustainability).
- Improve internal processes. Help refine templates, tools and systems that make our reporting stronger every year.
