The Senior Manager of Space Planning will represent the EMEA region and is responsible for managing all space activities and space strategy at the building level for the EMEA portfolio. This person is a skilled relationship builder, problem solver with excellent communication skills coupled with strong data analytical skills. This person has the ability to execute tactically while seeing the big picture. This role will partner closely with Workplace Services, Strategy, Projects, Design and our Business Partner teams to align on space strategies and support the execution of workplace initiatives including FDOBs, restacks, migrations and consolidations. Experience with space planning in flexible workplace environments is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exemplary leadership, people management, critical thinking, innovation, communication and storytelling skills. Proven success to operate in a dynamic environment that moves with pace and the ability to work through ambiguity is highly desired. Job Responsibilities:
Serve as the GSSP Regional Space Planning lead overseeing all space planning activities within the region to ensure consistent practices and global alignment.
Manage all space planning related escalations while partnering with Workplace Services and REWS Business Partners to deliver solutions and communicate to key stakeholders.
Develop and recommend scenario plans to support the expansion and contraction of the business at the site level, new office builds, restacks, refreshes, and migration plans including alternative workplace solutions.
Provide space strategy recommendations to optimize the portfolio, enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness across the region.
Collect feedback on flexible and hybrid work and provide recommendations and solutions to meet any business specific challenges.
Deliver campus/building stacking and migration plans for all sites within the region on a quarterly basis or as needed.
Develop consistent reporting for the region including occupancy metrics, trends, regional portfolio performance, utilization data and forecasted growth.
Participate in the Space Planning Steering Committee representing the region.
Establish, uphold and monitor new and existing; Present recommendations to Steer Co to enhance productivity and improve the customer experience.
Collaborate with REWS Strategy and ES Workforce Planning to develop and maintain headcount forecasts and translate business needs into strategic mid-range (2-3 years) site plans.
Support REWS Strategy with supply and demand analysis at the site-level for the region.
Assist in the development of long-term site strategies with REWS senior leadership and Strategy team.
Create executive level presentations including blocking and stacking plans, data analysis and visualization, hybrid work solutions and space programming concepts for key stakeholders and REWS senior leadership.
Drive Process Improvement through the ideation of new innovative solutions, processes and programs with a focus on organizational efficiency and enhancing the customer experience (for internal/external business partners).
Oversee space and neighborhood allocations and establish desk sharing target ratios.
Oversee physical space and occupancy audits for the region.
Conduct space needs analyses and recommend planning and utilization studies to improve space efficiency and inform future pilots.
Oversee the implementation of strategic space and occupancy pilots; document key learnings; Partner with Workplace Innovation on future pilots to enhance the customer experience.
Lead effort in evolving our space planning strategy from pilots to implementation in the region.
Provide guidance and support to the regional space planning team. May manage a team of space and occupancy planners.
Required Skills / Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree
8+ years of experience in Space & Occupancy Planning or Workplace Services.
5+ years of people leadership experience
Proven track record of effectively supervising, developing, motivating and training staff
Experience working in a fast-paced environment; technology sector experience is highly desired
Proven track record in delivering exceptional customer experiences and providing best in class customer service
Demonstrated ability to ideate and execute process improvements
Experience working with cross functional teams and ability to influence and arrive at consensus
Strong communication skills both written and with presentation development and delivery
Expert level data analysis skills with the ability to use data to tell a story
Proficient at using Google Suite and Microsoft Suite. Tableau and Slack experience is preferred
