In this role, you will operate cross-functionally in ERP initiatives and translate client business needs to an ERP and business systems architecture while running diagnostics of ERP environments to make recommendations of the optimal enterprise systems architecture.
Using best practices, you will architect SAP solutions for deployment, configuration, and operations that are simple and have scalability, maintainability, and resiliency. Similarly, you will create scripts, tools, and services for clients. You will also facilitate the design of the client's overall system landscape including evaluation of business needs and which technology solutions meet those needs, developing integration plans using API and other tools fit for purpose, assessing network and hardware requirements to deliver the target architecture and establishing standards and sustainability plans for the design.
You will focus on business drivers and system functionality to influence senior firm and client stakeholders while providing architecture and delivery of the full ERP and business system vision.
You will be the certified architect on ERP and API/integrated solutions including on-premise and cloud (SAP). You will work side-by-side with strategic consultants, leveraging, and learning best practices in client service, issue synthesis and problem resolution. The scope of your work will include the transactional core, analytics hubs, and reporting and visualization layers.
Additionally, you will be a core member of the McKinsey consulting team with responsibilities that range from shaping and implementing strategic products and solutions to ensuring that McKinsey's craft stays on the leading edge of technology and industry best practices.
You will be based in our Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich or Vienna office as part of McKinsey Digital.

As part of this group, you'll join a global team working on everything from IT modernization and strategy to agile, cloud, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. You'll typically work on projects across all industries and functions and will be fully integrated with the rest of our global firm.
You'll also work with colleagues from across McKinsey & Company to help our clients deliver breakthrough products, experiences, and businesses, both on technology and non-technology topics.

Your qualifications and skills- University degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent area
- 7+ years of experience with full lifecycle S/4HANA including typical integration with other SAP solution and non-SAP solution e.g. Salesforce, Workday, Kinaxis, Blue Yonder and shop floor control / manufacturing execution systems,
- Expertise with Enterprise architecture, Integration platforms (API) and designing enterprise wide applications platforms to meet the needs of the business
- Deep knowledge of SAP software products and in particular S/4 HANA (on-premise and cloud), and other key SAP solution like e.g. Ariba, SAP Business Suite, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects, SAP Mobility, and their architecture and infrastructure needs
- Experience with SAP Technology architecture and Business Technology platform (SAP BTP)
- Subject matter expertise in multiple ERP solutions and requirements towards ERP solution across various industries
- Proven track record of applying expertise to deliver business impact and influencing executives to set strategic directions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills paired with the ability to develop creative and efficient solutions
- Work proficiency in English and German for our German locations
- Ability to collaborate effectively at all levels of an organization and to work both independently and in various team settings
- Ability to work under pressure and manage client expectations effectively
- Flexibility to travel ~80% of the time
