This is a temporary opportunity and we are preferably looking for people who are immediately available.
This temporary role will last for 3 months with potential to be extended. You’ll be employed through an agency partner on an Agency Workers Contract for Services. This role will be paid per hour, plus holiday pay which will be accrued.
This role will require 3 days per week in our central London office.
The Finance Team
At Marshmallow, we’re building a financial services company designed for the future — inclusive, data-driven, and fast growing. The Finance team plays a critical role in enabling that growth by ensuring strong financial control, trusted data, and scalable processes that support decision-making across the business.
What you'll be doing
Customer redress delivery
Coordinate end-to-end cheque issuance process, including:
Preparation and validation of payment files
Liaison with cheque printing and dispatch providers
Tracking dispatch and returns
Manage customer communications and queries related to redress
Handle reissues, exceptions, and follow-ups
Maintain accurate logs and audit trails
Reconciliation & reporting
Perform customer-level reconciliation of issued and cleared cheques
Investigate and resolve discrepancies
Support preparation of monthly internal and FCA reporting
Maintain clear documentation and evidence for audit purposes
Finance operations support
Who You Are
1–3 years’ experience in a finance operations, accounting assistant, or similar role
Highly organised and methodical
Comfortable working independently with clear accountability
Calm under pressure and able to manage competing priorities
Strong communication skills
What You'll Bring
Comfortable working with large datasets and reconciliations
Strong Excel / spreadsheet skills
High attention to detail and strong ownership mindset
Desirable
Experience in payments, refunds, or customer finance operations
Exposure to regulated or audit-driven environments
Experience supporting month-end or reporting processes
