Stichting DOEN is the fund for innovation that focuses on innovative pioneers who are working on a sustainable, inclusive society, in which there is room for different perspectives, with contributions from the Postcode Lottery and the VriendenLoterij. Every year, DOEN finances more than 250 pioneers who are able to bring their innovative ideas to life in the field of regenerative economy, social entrepreneurship and radical imagination at home and abroad. For example, DOEN was at the cradle of the OV bicycle, Fairphone and the Repair Cafe. And we are quite proud of that!
As a junior Program Manager, you will work with the Program Managers on funding proposals (grants). You will also independently make analyses for the benefit of the programs, connect partners and support the Program Managers. The focus is on radical imagination and social art practices in the Netherlands, on the CAS and BES Islands and Global South, where artists work closely with communities.
The team you will be working in currently consists of 7 colleagues : three Program Managers, a junior Program Manager and three Team Members. The junior Program Manager is (substantively and functionally) managed by the program managers who fulfill the role of HR coordinator.
What exactly are you going to do?
- You are actively involved in the selection and assessment of funding applications within the theme of Transformative Power of Imagination.
- You write internal (project) analyses and notes and assess reports.
- You provide support in communicating with applicants and partners.
- In collaboration with the Communications Manager, you will tackle various communication projects.
- You are always actively looking for the latest trends and developments within the theme of Change Power of Imagination in the Netherlands, CAS and BES islands and Global South and share this knowledge proactively. You also perform analyses at the request of and together with the program managers.
- You provide support for cross-over projects, within the "Change Power of Imagination" team and together with the "Regenerative Economy" team and the "Solidarity Society" team.
- You help to find new connections between Dutch and international cultural partners and visit partners and projects to identify these.
We want you for this position because;
- You have a higher professional education (HBO) or university (WO) working and thinking level and at least 2 years of relevant work experience, and you also have relevant current knowledge and some experience in the field of (international) social art practices.
- Your passion and ideas align with the vision and mission of the DOEN Foundation and you have an affinity with transition-oriented thinking.
- You are interested in innovative ways of granting subsidies.
- You have a good knowledge and command of Dutch and English. Knowledge of French is a plus.
- You recognize yourself in the following competencies: innovative, curious, taking initiative, integrity, working together. In addition, you are analytical, you can negotiate well and you are result-oriented.
