As part of the Legal, Compliance and Risk Management department (LCR), you will provide legal services to the LEGO Group across areas of Corporate and Commercial law, related to the online, retail, and digital activities of the global LEGO® branded venues and attractions!
Core Responsibilities
You will be providing legal advice as well as performing contract work and promoting the LEGO Group compliance agenda.
You will work directly with business partners as well as internal colleagues within the LCR. In some cases, you will serve as the main point of contact for a task towards business collaborators.

Hence you will be building strong and effective working relationships and networks with partners within LCR and the business.
Core areas of focus will include:
Consumer Protection: Advise compliance with regulations and best practices to ensure the highest standards of consumer safety and protection are maintained throughout all our digital, ecommerce, and retail offerings.
Direct to Consumer -ecommerce: Support legal matters related to our global direct-to-consumer ecommerce platforms, ensuring transactions and processes meet applicable legal requirements and support the business ambitions.
Marketing Laws: Counsel on compliance with marketing regulations, including advertising, promotions, and digital communication strategies, with an emphasis on lawful engagement practices.
GDPR/Privacy Laws/e-Privacy: Advise data privacy matters, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), e-privacy directives, and other relevant privacy laws, to safeguard customer information and company operations.
Newer information technology laws: Advise development and use of new emerging technologies, including use of AI in digital products or services.
Commercial and Procurement Contracts within Digital: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial and procurement agreements that support digital initiatives, ensuring favorable and compliant terms.
General Legal Advice: Provide comprehensive legal guidance on a range of issues as they arise to ensure the company’s activities are conducted within the bounds of applicable law.

The Corporate Counsel position belongs to the Legal, Compliance, and Risk management department in the “Digital, Ecommerce and Marketplaces” team. This team supports our global online direct-to-consumer (D2C) operations, digital organisation, and online IP enforcement.
This role deals primarily with legal matters concerning our global portfolio of LEGO® branded venues and attractions. It requires frequent collaboration with other legal colleagues and regional teams. Success in this role requires a strong interest, curiosity and experience in the D2C sector, along with a keen curiosity about privacy, marketing, and consumer laws at EU level as well as an ability to think globally in terms of legal solutions applicable across markets.
The nature of operating attractions to consumers demands quick decision-making and rapid assessments, so agility is important. Strong partnering skills are also crucial, as you will collaborate closely with various business teams.
Do you have what it takes?
Legal law school degree (at Master level e.g. Cand. Jur, Cand. Merc. Jur, J.D., LL.M. or equivalent).
Significant and broad experience with corporate and commercial law, with strong experience within the area of online retail, consumer, digital marketing and privacy laws, preferably from working in legal department in a global company or from a private practice position (+ 5 years)
Very expert in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts
Highly collaborative, with a curious perspective and a “can do” approach
Ability to understand and learn the core business ambitions and strategies to be able to provide relevant legal advice and services.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Other languages are a plus.
Thrives with working across functional areas and on multiple initiatives and projects.
The role will support tasks across the global organisation. Some flexibility in working with other time zones is expected.
