Support investments in global farmland and accelerate the transition to regenerative farming. Join a hands-on investment team where you'll combine financial analysis with real-world impact. This role offers responsibility from day one, a steep learning curve, and a mix of desk-based analysis and fieldwork.
That is what you will use your talents for as a Portfolio Manager at Van Lanschot Kempen. You will contribute across the full investment cycle and ongoing fund management, including origination, due diligence, portfolio management, and investor reporting.
You also have the following tasks:
- Build investment cases from start to finish: market work, farm-level analysis, modelling, valuation, and structuring;
- Contribute to portfolio management: performance tracking versus plan and pipeline reporting;
- Work daily with local experts and operators to validate assumptions on yields, costs, and timelines;
- Help grow the strategy commercially: support investor materials and new partnerships;
- Visit farms globally and meet operators, agronomists, and local advisers.
RequirementsAnalytical, entrepreneurial, and curious. You thrive on making a positive impact and enjoy combining financial rigor with sustainability goals. You think ahead, ask questions, and take responsibility for closing the best investments for our clients.
You also have:
- 1-3 years' experience (or strong affinity) in investing, financial analysis, private markets, real assets, agriculture/food, or related advisory work;
- A Master's degree (e.g., finance, economics, business, engineering, agricultural economics or similar);
- Strong skills in financial modelling, valuation, and investment analysis;
- Willingness to travel and spend time on-site;
- Excellent English and Dutch preferred (B2 minimum).
