Van Gogh Europe is a network of collaborating European locations and collections connected to the life and work of Vincent van Gogh. By working together as partners, through networking, carrying out projects and supporting each other, the foundation aims to make Van Gogh’s cultural heritage accessible to a wide audience, to inspire, unite and engage current and future generations.
Collaboration partners include museums, heritage institutions, small cultural organizations and volunteer initiatives that are connected to the life and work of Van Gogh. For this foundation we are looking for a born networker who wants to spread this story further.
What are you going to do?
As Project Manager Van Gogh Europe you are responsible for the implementation of the strategic plan of the Van Gogh Europe Foundation. You act as a linchpin between the affiliated partners and actively contribute to the visibility and joint activities of the network. You work independently from the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and report to the board of Van Gogh Europe.
The work further consists of:
- Maintaining contacts with partners within the network and the board.
- Identifying activities and opportunities within the network and sharing these with partners.
- Stimulating collaboration and developing joint communication campaigns.
- Managing communication channels such as the Van Gogh Europe website and social media.
- Writing and distributing newsletters, preparing the annual report and other communication material.
- Co-organizing partner meetings and board meetings.
- Supporting the board in agenda setting, reporting and coordination.
- Maintain contact with external suppliers.
- Contribute to fundraising and maintain relationships with (potential) financial partners.
- Based on the strategic plan, shape new partnerships and implement the communications plan.
Who are you?
You are an independent, proactive networker who moves easily in an intercultural environment. You communicate clearly and know how to connect people. You have a passion for cultural heritage and feel at home in an international context.
- Demonstrable experience in project coordination and communication.
- Excellent command of Dutch and English; French is a plus.
- Experience with social media, content creation and CMS systems.
- Affinity with the work and life of Vincent van Gogh.
- Accurate and systematic worker with a flexible attitude.
- You enjoy operating independently, but also know when to coordinate.
- Willing to travel internationally (occasionally).

The position is for 18 hours per week and falls under scale 9 of the Museum CAO. The salary, depending on education and experience, is between € 3,346 and € 4,348 gross per month based on a full-time employment contract (36 hours per week).
